South Kingstown

Senior Center

South Kingstown, Rhode Island

The shingle style architecture works to create a building that is reminiscent of the large house in the South County area of Rhode Island

The use of French doors and simulated wood flooring throughout help to create a warm residential feel, as viewed from the multi-purpose room to dining room.

The warmth of the central fireplace not only greets visitors at the lobby, but serves as a functional indoor landmark for the building. This environmental technique deinstitutionalizes the building by shorten vistas and incorporating natural materials.
