A former Governor’s mansion replicated into a new nursing and assisted living residence. The front entrance to the building is created in this “historic façade reused” Although the existing mansion had to be demolished to make way for this new 172 bed nursing and living and assisted living residence, the original character of the mansion was reborn. The interior spaces yield a home-like setting incorporating environmental gerontological finding such as cluster planning and defensible space.
