Harbor Hill Place

Warwick,  Rhode Island

The two-story atrium designed at the center of the building. Grand skylights illuminate the interior with natural light. Wrought iron balcony railings continue the southern plantation theme that is characteristic of the original mansion.

The grand staircase, part of the original structure was refurbished and is the focal point of the lobby. The windows on the landing overlook the new atrium which serves as a café theater

The new addition  is proportioned to match the existing mansion. The perception of size is reduced by segmenting the building, the use of large first floor windows, and strategic placement of corner balconies.

Many existing rooms such as the one  were restored. This room is now the pub/game room.

The cafe/theater serves as the central focal point for this assisted living residence. Surrounding the atrium are the pub/game room, activity room, post office, a doctor’s office, beauty salon and dining room. On the upper level the tea room and front lobby stairs overlook the atrium.
